Bangladesh to join novelty and progress with Rwanda thru’ cooperation: Palak

Bangladesh and Rwanda, an African country have pledged to work together to achieve innovation and progress through strategic cooperation.

on Saturday in Rwanda's capital Kigali, this decision was reached by the Bangladeshi Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak and two Rwandan ministers: the Minister of Information Communication Technology and Innovation Paula Ingabire and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs General (retd) Kabarebe James during the Bangladesh-Rwanda meeting on various issues including bilateral cooperation and trade.

Biplab Nazir, Public Relations Officer of the State Minister of ICT, said that the state minister had two separate meetings with them and both the meetings were termed as "fruitful". In the meeting, the State Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the Minister of Information Communication Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Rwanda Mrs. Paula Ingabire and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation (Retd.) Kabarebe James discussed on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

In a meeting with Information Communication Technology and Innovation Minister Paula Ingabire, the two sides expressed their commitment to build a strong partnership in the digital economy, ICT and telecommunications sectors and drive innovation and progress through strategic cooperation.

Sources in the meeting said, State Minister Palak emphasized the potential benefits of collaboration, saying, “Our discussions today with Ms. Paula Ingabire and her team have opened many opportunities for mutual growth and development in the digital economy. Both our countries are keen to work together to harness the power of ICT and telecommunications for innovation and economic progress.”

Development of joint ventures to promote digital transformation and innovation, facilitation of technology transfer and capacity building in ICT, exploring opportunities for B2B and G2B collaboration in telecommunications, improving digital infrastructure and services to support economic growth and development are discussed.

State Minister Palak discussed the possibility of opening a Rwandan mission in Bangladesh during a meeting with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs General (Retd.) Kabarebe James, which has been identified as an important step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Both sides have shown keen interest in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Knowledge Partnership, which facilitates exchange of expertise and innovation. Besides, various aspects of technology transfer (G2G, G2B, B2B, B2C) were discussed to increase cooperation and growth in the technology industries of both the countries. There was also discussion on increasing trade in electronics and textile sectors to create new economic opportunities for both countries.

Both the meetings paved the way for a prosperous future for Bangladesh and Rwanda, indicating commitment to achieving the goal of increasing closer cooperation. State Minister Palak expressed excitement about Bangladesh's future cooperation and said, “This meeting marks the beginning of a strong partnership between Bangladesh and Rwanda. We are ready to work closely with Rwanda to advance our mutual interests in technology, trade and so on.
